West Riding Red 2013
Made from a number of varieties including Triomphe, Regent, Pinot Noir, some Gamay and Dornfelder, all picked and pressed together. A light delicate wine with red berry/cherry fruits on the nose, leading to red fruit on the palate with light tannins. It has been made 'ripasso' style*. Excellent with delicate steaks and really comes into its own with meat pies and casseroles. Serve at 15 - 16 °C. Benefits from opening for at least an hour before serving.
*Ripasso style - a wine-making technique whereby the pressed skins from the current vintage are added to the wine of the previous year and left over winter, then bottled in spring.
