Red with garnet trim, medium-high layer. Black fruits, liquorice, roasted, cocoa, dairy, spices. In the mouth full, forceful, fine, balanced, with long and pleasant aftertaste, and well-integrated tannins. (Producer’s notes)

“Rather than going for the traditional notion of Reserva and Gran Reserva, they make a wine called Rioja Seleccion Especial, aged in really nice casks and then given ten plus years in the cellar before releasing. So, whether you want a special Rioja for birthdays, high-days and holidays, Christmas sort of occasions, then they cover that range.
