Sauvignon Blanc, Cinco Tierras, Salta
Tasting notes
The wine has extraordinary aromatics, very much in the pea-shoot and fresh asparagus spectrum. The palate is perfumed, vibrant, lovely and fresh, and in great condition. This wine will please those who love the classic Sauvignon based wines: Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé, Marlborough Sauvignon, through to aged white Bordeaux. It definitely shows that there is more to Argentina than Malbec! (D.H., 2020)

Expert's View
“This immaculately cellared Argentine Sauvignon Blanc hails from the Cafayate Valley in Salta Province, way to the North of Mendoza, and at MUCH higher altitude. The vines here start at 1,700 metres, pretty much double the altitude of the highest vines in France. The 2012 vintages are drinking wonderfully now, you can have them chilled, light and fresh. You can also have them coming up from cellar to room temperature and having more a mute mature wine experience. There is a lovely precision, salinity and tastiness from old vines with low yields, which Banfi handles really properly.” ~ Clear Wine Co's Wine Expert
