Calabretta Pinot Noir 2010, Mt. Etna North Valley, Sicily
Tasting notes
Ruby red colour with a hint of brick. Spicy, very open, rich, herbs, multi-dimensional. On the palate: Dried red cherries; earthy, licorice, spicy, notes of iron and minerals. Enormously complex with mature overtones of a great Barolo. Very fresh and elegant after spending 8 years in old, large Slavonian casks before bottling. (D.H., 2000 vintage)

Expert's View
“Calabretta is a really, really amazing winery. Pinot Noir (or Nero) is one of their small production wines – inspiring stuff!” ~ Clear Wine Co's Wine Expert
