Sancerre Rouge "Celestin" 2014, Domaine Bizet, Loire
Tasting notes
Fairly deep garnet. Nose of red and black fruits with a vegetal touch in the background. Supple, ethereal palate where fruit is supported by beautiful freshness. Chalky finish. A distinctive Sancerre drinking well from now on with cold meats. (Gilbert & Gaillard; 2014 vintage; tasted 1/06/15)

Expert's View
“They make a decent quantity of the Red Sancerre, which is a wonderful, wonderful truly light Pinot Noir, probably one of the lightest Pinots you’ll get now. Red Sancerre is even nicer than red Burgundy; it’s just a wonderful wine to have ever so slightly chilled, for lunch, for picnics, for cold cuts. They do a refreshing, crunchy, red wine with a white wine structure. And sometimes when you just want that lightness of red and there aren’t that many places, regions, grapes, that do it. With red Sancerre, if you are in the mood for light, crunchy, fresh red, it’s perfect.” ~ Clear Wine Co's Wine Expert
