Shiraz Barossa & Eden Valleys 2017, Powell & Son
Tasting notes
Inky purple crimson with black core. Savoury and spicy, fine dry texture. Smooth tannins, cool and long. Gentle but persistent. There’s fruit depth yet a lightness of touch. Dark and just slightly chewy on the finish. (J.H. – Jancis Robinson; 2015 vintage; tasted 4/10/17)

Expert's View
“Powell & Son is not a Torbreck re-run. His young vine Syrah half grown in the areas of the Barossa with thinner soils with a bit of rocky characteristics and the other half from Eden Valley at high altitude, make extraordinary mid weight wines in nice quantities, including this light wine for everyday drinking, for all those who love the dramatic, flamboyant Barossa style.” ~ Clear Wine Co's Wine Expert
