Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc 2016, Rémi Rollin, Burgundy
Tasting notes
Slightly shy on the nose but it really expands on the palate. Quite broad fruit with a liquorice overlay but no excess struck match. I’d decant this. Already giving pleasure. Dry overall. No sign of premox! (Jancis Robinson; 2012 vintage, tasted June 2016)

Expert's View
“The whites are totally bright when it comes to bottling which means they’re bright unfined as well. A nice range of wines; Pernand-Vergelesses and nearby Aloxe Corton are known to be the cooler, mineral, less ripe, less flamboyant side of Burgundy, so when you’re drinking Pernaud-Vergalesse Blanc or Pernaud-Vergalesse Rouge, there’s mineral lighter or mineral more structured wines which need food in their youth, and then when they are five to ten years old turn a corner into full Burgundian perfume and wonderful increased sense of drinkability. So Rémi Rollin are one of the originals and they make text-book wines.” ~ Clear Wine Co's Wine Expert
