Chianti Classico Riserva 2010, La Porta di Vertine, Tuscany
Tasting notes
Red berries, stewed plums, tobacco, a hint of alcoholic heat on the nose. Bright splash of sweet clear fruit on the palate with a tannic under bite, sunny acid finish. An old friend, uncomplicated, delicious, perfect accompaniment to dry rubbed barbecue ribs and roasted cauliflower. (W.C. - Cellar Tracker; 2010 vintage; tasted 11/12/2019)

Expert's View
“La Porta di Vertine is an unbelievable Chianti winery making the greatest Chianti Classicos in modern times. Chianti Classico Riserva with 60 to 90 days maceration is a truly profound great wine. It is truly magisterial in complexity and depth, a brooding presence, meaty, heady, a bit like the most powerful parts of Wagner, or Bruckner, or Beethoven at his noisiest, and a sort of wine to really stop you in your tracks and really call for your attention. It’s really, really tremendous.” ~ Clear Wine Co's Wine Expert
